Leaked documents from the Biden campaign show they plan to return to a winning strategy from the Obama years. The so called “reverse psychology” campaign strategy has been used by democratic candidates for a number of years and it’s no surprise they plan to use it again. Perhaps the most effective use was during the passage of Obamacare where Barrack Obama told the public that “If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor,” an obvious untruth, but it absolutely worked, and that’s what matters.
The leaked campaign documents give clarity to a number of democratic talking points in the 2020 election cycle. For example, when democratic candidates say they don’t want to take guns from law abiding citizens, it’s an obvious joke. Of course, they do! Or when Joe Biden says he will be a unifying president, its an obvious wink and nudge. This strategy is a terrific one that is tried and true. Democrats love saying the exact opposite of what they believe and it works every time.
Joe Biden showed an exquisite use of the strategy in his speech during the democratic convention where he stated, “I'll be a president that will stand with our allies and friends and make it clear to our adversaries the days of cozying up to dictators is over.” As he spoke, Mr. Biden winked aggressively at the camera while campaign aids released articles promoting the Obama-Biden Iran deal on his website. Later in the speech, Mr. Biden spoke about how he will, “always stand for our values of human rights and dignity” (*wink**wink*) while advocating heavily for late term abortion via the democratic party platform. Later still in his speech, he mentioned, “Nor will I put up with foreign interference in our most sacred democratic exercise: voting” (*nudge**nudge*) all while having refused to answer any questions about his involvement against the Trump campaign in 2016.
The terrific use of the reverse psychology campaign by Mr. Biden and the 2020 democrats is a textbook example of its proper implementation. Democrats for years in the future should be taking notes today. Lying to the American people has always been a winning strategy for democratic candidates, and it will work again this time. If it doesn’t we’re NOT going to die in a fascist hellscape (*wink**wink*).
